HydrationIQ — Last updated: March 15, 2026

Your data stays on your device.

HydrationIQ does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.

Overview

HydrationIQ is a hydration tracking app developed by Frank Sieler / Draft Apps. It stores all your data locally on your device. We do not operate any servers, do not collect analytics, and do not use any third-party tracking services. This policy explains what data the app stores and how it is handled.

Data Stored on Your Device

To provide its core functionality, HydrationIQ stores the following information locally on your device:

This data is stored in the app's local database and is never transmitted to any external server.

Apple HealthKit

If you choose to enable HealthKit integration, HydrationIQ writes your water intake data to Apple Health. This is entirely optional and requires your explicit permission. The app only writes dietary water intake — it does not read any data from Apple Health.

Data shared with Apple Health is governed by Apple's privacy policies and your device settings. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

iCloud Backup

HydrationIQ offers an optional feature to back up your hydration data as CSV files to your personal iCloud Drive. These backups are stored in your own iCloud account and are not accessible to us. You can disable this feature at any time in the app's settings.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, HydrationIQ schedules local notifications on your device to remind you to drink water. These notifications are generated entirely on your device — no push notification server is involved.

Third-Party Services

HydrationIQ does not integrate any third-party services. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, no crash reporting tools, and no external APIs. The app uses only native Apple frameworks.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your personal data to any third parties. The only way your data leaves the app is through features you explicitly initiate, such as CSV export (via the iOS Share Sheet) or HealthKit sync — both of which require your action and consent.

Children's Privacy

HydrationIQ is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Since all data is stored locally and never transmitted to us, we have no means of identifying or accessing any user's data.

Your Rights

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can delete all app data by uninstalling HydrationIQ or by using the "Reset Data" option within the app. No data remains on any server after deletion because no data was ever sent to a server.

Health & Medical Disclaimer

HydrationIQ provides general hydration guidance based on publicly available scientific research, including the Beverage Hydration Index. The app is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Hydration goals calculated by the app are estimates and should not replace professional medical guidance.

If you have any medical conditions affecting fluid intake (including but not limited to kidney disease, heart failure, or hyponatremia), consult your physician before relying on this app's recommendations. The developer assumes no liability for health outcomes related to the use of this app.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version here and update the date at the top. For significant changes, we will also notify you within the app.
